What you can and can’t bulk edit on Etsy

Etsy has a bulk edit tool on its Listings page for a stated set of fields, including titles, tags, descriptions, and prices. It lets you change existing listings together, but Etsy does not offer bulk upload to create new listings.

What Etsy’s own tools cover

For dozens or hundreds of listings, start by identifying the field you need to change. Etsy’s main bulk-edit article lists nine elements; its separate help pages also document section and return-policy changes.

Fields outside the published bulk-edit list

Photos, alt text, variations, and attributes are not on Etsy’s published list of bulk-editable elements. That is a limit of the published list, not a statement that these changes are impossible.

For variations, Etsy documents selecting several variations within one listing to update price, processing, or quantity. That describes a different task from changing variations across several listings.

Creating listings and keeping a record

If you need new listings, Etsy suggests creating one and copying it. Review the copied information for the new item before publishing; do not assume every detail still applies.

The CSV export gives you a record of the active-listing fields listed above. Keep it as a reference for your existing titles and tags. Treat downloading that record and creating new listings as separate tasks: Etsy’s no bulk upload statement still applies.

Plan a batch change safely

Choose a group whose listings need the same change. For example, if you are revising wording about a material, include only items that actually use it.

Before you start, save the CSV export. Etsy itself recommends downloading it before title updates. Change one field at a time, then check a few listings afterwards against your intended result. Compare the new wording with your saved record before starting another batch.
