Choose a name for your Etsy shop

A good shop name is easy to remember, spell, and find. This page offers a way to brainstorm and check candidates; it does not generate names or check availability automatically.

Make a short list

Write down words that describe your materials, style, or point of view. Combine them into two- or three-word candidates, then remove anything hard to pronounce or too close to another shop. Say each name aloud and test whether someone could type it after hearing it once.

Avoid a narrow product term if you expect your catalog to grow beyond that category. A name can have personality without listing every product you sell.

Check before you commit

Etsy limits shop names to 20 characters. Check Etsy for availability and current naming rules. Also search the web and relevant trademark databases before building a brand around a candidate. Etsy allows a limited number of name changes after a shop opens, so make the choice deliberately.
