Is your price on the shelf — or off it?

Enter what you sell, or paste your listing link. You see the shelf a buyer sees — which shelf your price sits on, how many rivals charge more than you, and where buyer favourites cluster.

Enter what buyers actually pay. Pasting a link reads your list price — if you run a sale, type the discounted price here instead.

How it reads the niche

Real data, honestly cut

01

The shelf, not the average

We read the top of the actual search results — the listings a buyer compares you against — and show the middle price and the shelf edges, because one $900 listing shouldn't bend your 'average'.

02

The money band

Every listing carries its favourite count. We find the price band where buyer hearts cluster — the range this niche is happy to pay.

03

Your position, in plain terms

Your price lands on a shelf: budget floor, mid-shelf, or premium edge — with how many rivals charge more or less than you, and what that signals to a buyer scanning forty of them.

A price is a message before it's a number

A buyer scanning forty rivals reads your price in context. Sitting in the bottom tenth of the shelf rarely says "great deal" on Etsy — it says "cheaper materials", and it attracts the buyers who leave the harshest reviews. Sitting far above the money band can work, but the photos and the story have to carry that premium on their own.

Sellers usually price from their costs and a guess. The guess is the weak part: the shelf changes, seasons move it, and the range you remember from launch drifts. A two-minute check against today's actual search results replaces the guess with a position you chose on purpose.

Price with the whole picture

Position is half the decision; margin is the other half. Take the number this check suggests and run it through the profit calculator against your real costs, then make sure the listing earns the price — the photo doctor shows whether your photos justify the shelf position you want. Frequently asked questions

Is the Etsy price check free?

Yes, completely — no account, no email. The data comes from Etsy's official API and the math runs on the spot.

Where do the prices come from?

From Etsy's official API: the top results a buyer sees when searching your phrase, up to 200 listings. We filter to one currency and one product type (physical vs digital) so you're compared with true rivals, and tell you how many listings we dropped.

Why the mid-shelf price instead of an average?

Etsy niches are long-tailed: a handful of luxury listings can double an 'average' that no buyer actually pays. The mid-shelf price (the median — half the rivals charge less, half charge more) and the shelf edges describe what buyers really see.

What is the money band?

Each listing shows how many buyers favourited it. We split the shelf into price bands and find where those favourites cluster. Etsy doesn't publish per-listing sales, so favourites are the closest public demand signal — and they show which price range this niche's buyers keep choosing.

Should I just price inside the money band?

Not automatically. It tells you where demand clusters today; your costs, your positioning, and what your photos can justify matter as much. Below the band you may be leaving money on the table, above it your listing has to earn the premium.

Why is a price here higher than what I see on Etsy?

That listing is running a sale. Etsy's official API only shows the list price — the discount a buyer sees on the page is invisible to it. Much of the market lists high and discounts permanently, so we say it plainly and give you a sale reality check: one click models the whole shelf at 25% or 50% off.

Do the prices include shipping?

No — Etsy's API returns item prices before shipping. A '$25 + $8 shipping' listing and a '$33 free shipping' listing look different here, so treat close calls with that in mind.
