Photograph the product a buyer will receive

A strong first photo makes the item recognizable before a buyer reads the title. The rest of the set should answer questions the first image cannot: size, texture, use, variations, and what arrives in the package.

Build the shot list from buyer questions

Start with a clean main view, then photograph a detail that matters to quality. Add a scale reference if dimensions are hard to judge. Show the item in use when that helps explain it. If buyers can choose colors or sizes, photograph those options clearly and keep labels consistent with the listing’s variations.

The planner above is an editorial aid, not an Etsy requirement for a particular number of shots. A simple digital file and a handmade bag need different visual evidence.

Use light that preserves the product

Even window light and a stable phone can work well. Check focus and white balance; a dramatic edit that changes the item’s color creates a buyer problem. Etsy recommends images at least 2000 pixels in both dimensions.
