Check a listing against Etsy’s current rules

A listing can be beautifully written and still cause problems if the item is ineligible, the photos misrepresent it, or required production details are missing. Use this checklist to find questions to verify; it is not legal advice or a guarantee against enforcement.

Check the item first

Read Etsy’s Creativity Standards for the kind of item you sell. Confirm who made or designed it, whether a production partner must be named, and whether an AI-created item requires disclosure. Digital and physical products can have different details to explain.

Check the listing

Compare the title, photos, variations, and description with the item a buyer will receive. Verify materials, size, processing time, personalization, and claims about safety or compatibility. Use only images you have the rights to use. If you mention another brand or character, check the relevant intellectual-property rules instead of assuming a disclaimer makes it safe.

Check shop settings

Review shipping, returns, and any location-specific information Etsy asks for. Rules can change and may depend on where you sell and where you ship. Go to Etsy’s seller policies for the current text.
